Electrify America is expanding its role beyond operating its own public network by allowing companies to own and brand EV charging stations under the Powered by Electrify America programme.

The approach gives retailers and other businesses a route to develop charging networks carrying their own identities while using Electrify America’s charging infrastructure and programme support.

Powered by Electrify America already supports nearly 600 chargers, according to Carscoops' report on the initiative. The model positions charging as a branded customer-service asset rather than solely a utility operated by a dedicated network provider.

For fleet managers and EV drivers, the expansion could add more branded locations to the public charging landscape. For businesses, it creates an option to associate EV charging directly with their retail presence without building a network entirely independently.
