Peugeot is preparing a new-generation 208 for 2027, with early prototype images offering the first indication of the French brand’s next move in the closely contested European supermini market.
According to Carscoops, the redesigned model adopts a more angular visual approach than the current car. The prototype also appears to feature a square-shaped steering wheel, continuing Peugeot’s willingness to experiment with distinctive cabin controls.
The upcoming 208 will move to a new platform, although further technical details have not been disclosed. That change will be central to the car’s competitiveness as European buyers gain more electric small-car options.
Peugeot’s new supermini is set to face the Renault 5 E-Tech and Volkswagen ID.Polo, placing it in a fast-developing segment where design, packaging and electric capability are becoming decisive factors.
