Dacia's Hipster could become one of the lowest-priced electric cars offered in the UK if the project receives final approval from Renault Group. The compact city EV is being considered for a potential 2027 showroom arrival at roughly £9,500.
The model remains unconfirmed. As Motor1 reports, Renault Group has not yet signed off on production, leaving the Hipster's timing, specification and commercial rollout subject to a final decision.
Chinese production is under consideration, a route that could support Dacia's longstanding focus on affordability. The brand would nevertheless face the challenge of bringing a low-cost imported EV to Britain while meeting expectations on safety, equipment and real-world usability.
A £9,500 price point would put significant pressure on the entry-level EV market, where manufacturers are seeking ways to cut battery and production costs without moving beyond the budgets of urban buyers and fleet operators. For now, the Hipster is a closely watched proposal rather than a confirmed production car.
