Honda has avoided a US investigation over backup-camera failures affecting the Ridgeline, following a recall campaign issued in 2022.

The recall addressed a wiring-related problem in which insufficient corrugated tubing and poorly fastened zip ties could contribute to faults affecting the rear-view camera system.

As Carscoops reports, the earlier recall action has removed the basis for a further US regulatory investigation.

The case underscores the importance of harness routing, protective sleeving and secure fastening in camera systems. While backup cameras are now a familiar driver-assistance feature, their reliability depends on durable electrical connections throughout a vehicle's service life.
