Porsche is bringing a significant connectivity upgrade to selected 911, Boxster and Cayman models from the 2009–2016 model years. The change adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, according to a report by Motor1.

The eligible line-up spans three of Porsche’s best-known sports-car families, covering cars that remain widely used by enthusiasts and collectors across Europe.

Wireless smartphone integration gives drivers access to compatible phone-based navigation, communication and media applications without relying on a wired connection. It brings a current-generation convenience feature to Porsche models designed well before such connectivity became commonplace.

For owners of these 2009–2016 cars, the upgrade offers a way to modernise the in-car technology experience while retaining the character of the original vehicle.
