Stellantis is expanding its engineering resources to address lingering quality issues across the group. According to a report by Motor1, the automaker has hired more than 2,000 engineers for the effort.

The company’s chief said the corrective work was advancing "very, very, very quickly", presenting the recruitment drive as part of an accelerated response to quality shortcomings.

The scale of the hiring indicates that Stellantis views quality as a core engineering priority rather than a narrow after-sales concern. For retail buyers and fleet operators, the effectiveness of the programme will depend on whether improvements are reflected in product development, manufacturing controls and customer support.

No product-specific actions, deadlines or performance targets were included in the available information. Stellantis will ultimately be judged on how consistently the expanded engineering effort translates into more dependable vehicles and a stronger ownership experience.
