The 2027 Cadillac Escalade IQ will leave the factory with a NACS charging port and faster home-charging capability, adding a model-specific upgrade to General Motors’ wider connector transition.
According to InsideEVs, every GM electric vehicle for the 2027 model year is set to use the Tesla-style connector from production. For the Escalade IQ, Cadillac is pairing that hardware change with an improvement to AC charging at home.
The shift removes the need for a separate adapter when using charging equipment built around the NACS standard. It also aligns Cadillac’s largest electric SUV with GM’s strategy of standardising its future EV charging interface.
Cadillac has not detailed the final charging rate or the hardware behind the Escalade IQ’s home-charging upgrade in the available information. Prospective buyers and fleet managers will need to assess the vehicle’s confirmed onboard charging capability alongside their property’s electrical capacity when full specifications are released.
